Teacher Notes (not visible to students)
This activity teaches the French near future (aller + infinitive) through meaningful context: New Year resolutions. Use the examples to model formation and pronunciation. For partner work, have students pair up and practice asking and answering questions in French before recording. Minimal prep: printed vocabulary list, paper and pencil, and a device for recording. High-quality answers for the open-ended paragraph should correctly use several near-future sentences (aller + infinitive), include at least one negative near-future sentence (ne ... pas), and connect actions to being a better learner or family member. For the multimedia prompt, look for clear communication of plans, correct form of aller + infinitive, and evidence of creativity (photo showing an action plan, a short role-play, or a drawing with labels in French). Teachers will grade open responses manually as correct or incorrect based on these criteria.
