Place Value Practice

Standards: The numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 refer to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine tens (and 0 ones). (1.NBT.2(c)), 10 can be thought of as a bundle of ten ones -- called a ''ten.'' (1.NBT.2(a))

Student Instructions

1. Use the move tool to show the tens and ones of the number using the green ten sticks and yellow ones cubes. 2. drawing Write an expanded form equation for the the number in the blue box (example: 24 = 20 + 4 )

Students will practice representing numbers in a variety of ways through the standard form, picture of tens and ones, and expanded form equation. Ex: 24 Standard Form → 24 Expanded Form → 20 + 4 = 24 Picture → 2 tens sticks 4 ones cubes
