This activity teaches 6th grade students to identify and name parts of a circle: center, radius, diameter, chord, arc, and circumference. Begin with the linked video (https://youtu.be/e0pxbdFZ-7k?si=v_ys2_rlHFSXJ5WO) to introduce vocabulary and show diagrams. Use the labeling and matching pages to check basic recall, then use open-ended pages for deeper understanding. For the partner activity prepare simple tools: compass or circular objects (cups, lids), ruler, pencil, and paper. No special tech is required beyond a camera or device for recording student work. High-quality open-ended answers will correctly identify and label circle parts and explain relationships (e.g., "diameter = 2 ร radius"), show clear diagrams or photos with labeled parts, and justify reasoning in at least one sentence. For the labelling activity a correct response shows correct placement of labels. For the definition-matching, correct answers pair the exact concept to its definition. Teachers may mark open responses as correct or incorrect based on these expectations.
